2017 Spring Fashion Trends – Women’s Pants
Sensible, affordable and fashion forward rarely collide in the same sentence, let alone the same article. Rising economic worries have stretched into the global economy, as many people are concerned with just keeping their jobs. Still, many women want to look forward to something good and the 2017 Spring Fashion trends do not disappoint this year as the five hottest trends for pants are sensible, affordable and very fashionable.
High Waist – The first trend that was spotted on nearly every designers runway is the High-Waist. A somewhat retro feel of the depression era 20’s, it tends to be more flattening, and flattering while creating longer lines for a more tailored look. From Alexander McQueen to John Rocha, business dress to evening casual, solids to exotic prints, the high waist is certainly a choice by many designers. You are sure to find the high waist pant in any price range to fit your budget including Style and Co.’s very fashionable high waist pant at Macy’s .
Wide-Leg – Borrowing a page from the late 70’s, early 80’s the wide leg pant is the trend bucking the “skinny jeans” trend of 2007. Women want comfort in how their pants fit and the wide leg does just that. While top designers like Betsey Johnson and Jil Sander like the wide leg so do houses like BCBGenration found at Dillard’s or Trina Turk at Nordstrom .
Sporty – As women become more active they want their pants to become more active as well. Fabric blends of cotton and spandex have made pants become more stretchable while maintaining their shape. Primarily these were found in the typical black, grey and white pant. Yet, now more exciting colors and prints are available. It’s not just the color or fabric that make the pants sporty thought, but also the length. While capri pants fell just below the knee, the trend for spring will be a bit longer almost a 3/4 length, proving themselves wearable and fashionable with pumps or Puma’s. Juicy Couture has done a wonderful job of incorporating the vision from 2017 spring fashion week to today’s woman and can be found at Nordstrom .
Relax-fit – With a lower rise waist and less flair in the leg the relax-fit pant is the superb middle ground appealing to many women. The type of pant will certainly be a staple of the 2017 Spring trend. Comfy, classy, and able to adapt to the business environment the relax-fit pant is cut loose and easy at the hips while tapering delicately above the ankle. Affordable, women will be able to find the relax-fit pant at almost any place they typically clothes shop, from Target to Fifth Avenue.
Harem pants – On the cutting edge of fashion is where this hot trend rests. Several designers including Elizabethand James and even the conservative Ralph Lauren added the Harem pant to their collections. Although not for the faint of heart nor for the MC Hammer fans, this pant trend will continue to grow as it is one piece that allows the most room for creating personal style. Several styles of the Harem pant include a sheer overlay and while some boasts a very accentuated hip and tapered ankle, several others are more loose, and free flowing. For the truly brave and cutting edge, exaggerate the volume and balance the shape of the Harem pant by choosing a slightly more cropped pair and combining a tight fitting top. While this trend is cutting edge you may not be able to find them readily everywhere, check with places like H&M , Topshop or French Connection for a variety of styles.
